The death of beloved Roswell High School student and quarterback Robbie Roper shocked people close to his metro Atlanta home and across the country.
The family of 2022 quarterback recruit Robbie Roper announced he died on Wednesday. His cause of death has not been confirmed or announced by the family, but Roswell High School coach Chris Prewett told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the quarterback died following complications from a routine surgery.
Roper died after complications from surgery, his family has confirmed. He was 18 years old.

Robbie was the QB who created the highlights in the final game for the Roswell High School against Grayson High School in the GHSA football quarterfinals.
On December 21, 2021, news regarding Robbie’s condition went public and ended up on life support.
Roper, who described himself as a “late bloomer,” said he was a fan of former Gators quarterback Kyle Trask, who did not start his first game with the team until his senior year and then went on to be drafted by the Buccaneers in 2021.
“That’s what I’ve really just focused on throughout the year. It gives you some hope at the end of the tunnel, seeing what a guy like Kyle Trask went through and he’s been in the same spot I am…But I definitely want to make it my own path.”

After the complications took place during surgery in Florida, Roper ended up on a life support machine.
QB, Roper faced complications from the surgery, school officials confirmed through social media.
According to the 247Sports, Roper acquired scholarship offers from Massachusetts, Morgan State, Morehead State, and Western Carolina.
He had also drawn attraction from various other high-profile college football programs, such as Florida State, Alabama, and Georgia.

Gov. Brian Kemp posted his condolences on Twitter account writing:

Robbie’s family made the devasting announcement with the help of social media, Twitter saying that Robbie passed away on December 22, 2021.
Further, the family added, ‘he was the biggest joy to our family and is proud of the young man he has become.’
Roswell coach Chris Prewett told the AJC that Roper was hospitalized Sunday in Gainesville, Fla., for complications following routine surgery.
The coach called Roper “a model citizen” on and off the field.
“Robbie did everything in life with a contagious, positive and energetic attitude that will be missed by all who knew him,” Prewett said. “Robbie fought hard and battled until the very end like he did everything else.”.

The parents and sister of Robbie Roper were still praying for his recovery when he was in a critical condition some days back.
Roper’s sister is a softball player at the University of Mississippi. She posted a tribute note to her brother after the family announced his death.
