Police has kicked off investigations on the murder of Ivan Kalungi Kirumira, young brother of Kampala property Mogul Godfrey Kirumira who was on Sunday stabbed to death in his house and body stuffed in a carpet.

While addressing a weekly press conference, Police Spokesperson Emilian Kayima told journalists on Monday that investigations have been zeroed down on occupants of the late Ivan Kirumira’s house in order to find his killers. Kirumira,40, was murdered at about 2am on Sunday morning in his sitting room at his home in Kamuli, Kira municipality in Wakiso district before his body was wrapped in a carpet and placed in his vehicle.

“They were three people in the house and he (Kirumira) was the fourth, we have two in custody and one is on run. We shall arrest all the house occupants, until our investigations reveal otherwise,” Kayima said on Monday during the press briefing.

Kayima confirmed the arrest of two house occupants; Ivan Mukisa,17, a student of Standard High School and Sharon Kagimu,12, who are all helping out with the investigation. Kayima said that police is still hunting for the other occupant only identified as Ken who is still on the run. Kirumira’s body is currently in Mulago for postmortem.

Kayima says police have already got good leads into the gruesome murder of the City tycoon’s brother.

“The 12year old gave us insightful information,” he said, adding that the assailants disappeared with unspecified amount of money from the house.
