‘Girl in the Picture’ is the newest Netflix true-crime documentary story that digs deep into the spine-tingling true story of a young woman with a complex and rigid identity on Netflix. Do you know what the worst part is? That is not even shown in the series.
At the beginning of the documentary, viewers are introduced to the tragic death of 20-year-old Tony Don Tadlock, also known as Tonya Hughes. He is believed to have first died in a hit-and-run incident in 1990, just days away from his 21st birthday.
Whatever name she went by, Suzanne Sevakis, Tonya Hughes, or Sharon Marshall, the general impression of her demeanor remained the same: she was a bright young woman with a kind disposition and the ability to do everything she set her mind to.
Unfortunately, fate had other plans for her, and she was concealing terrible secrets that even she didn’t realize was that dreadful.
In Episode 60 Codi wraps up the mystery behind who Suzanne Sevakis is, what happened to Micheal Hughes, and who the fuck Franklin Delano Floyd think he is…

Who Is Suzanne Sevakis? “Girl In The Picture” On Netflix Describes Her Horrific Life Story
Susan Marie Sevakis was Sandy Chipman’s daughter from her marriage to her high-school sweetheart, Cliff Sevakis.
She had two sisters, Alison and Amy, and a younger brother, Philip, also known as “Stevie”.
Floyd met Sevakis’ mother, Sandy, at church and vowed to help her marry and raise their children, who were badly damaged during a tornado in the 1970s, Chipman recalls. girl in the picture on netflix.
When photos of Tonya Hughes started circulating on the news, some were stunned and confused because the woman they recognized in the photos was not Tonya Hughes, but a woman named Sharon Marshall, and the man who was her husband. As it was, he recognized his father, Warren Marshall.
She, along with her four siblings, was taken by Frank Floyd. Later on, two of them were left in foster care, and the third one suddenly disappeared from the picture. Now Sevakis was all alone with her stepfather in Georgia, where she was badly abused both physically and sexually.
Her name was altered to Sharon Marshall, and she lived the most brutal life then. Forced to work as a sex worker, she was not allowed to attend school or college. Despite having a dream to become an aerospace engineer, her dream just got shattered.
When she learned she was pregnant around the time she was given a placement in 1986, Floyd forbade her from moving on to pursue her education.
Instead, he picked her up, and the two relocated to Tampa, Florida, where they began living as husband and wife while using the aliases Tonya and Clarence. She gave birth to her son, Michael, while living in the city and working as a dancer. They got married in front of family and friends in June 1989 while visiting New Orleans.
After working as a stripper for a few years, she found out that Frank had done an insurance policy for her and could kill her anytime he wanted. Just later, she got killed in a hit-run case.
Suzanne Sevakis Parents And The Missing Girl’s Case
In April 1990, Suzanne’s co-worker from a strip club told her she should leave Floyd to avoid her death, and run off with her child. At the time, Suzanne had a secret relationship with Kevin Brown, who was the father of her son, Michael Hughes. The two eventually ran away with Michael.
Later that month, three passerby found Suzanne’s body lying on the side of the highway, outside of Oklahoma City. There was a large hematoma at the base of her skull. Groceries were scattered around her which led authorities to believe she was grocery shopping, and then pushed when she was attempting to get to the Motel 6. The authorities investigating only surmised that it was a hit and run, but it was never confirmed. Floyd is the prime suspect in the death of Suzanne.
Suzzane’s entire life story came apart because of her friends’ choice to find her parents and inform them of her passing. They found her “mother,” Tonya Hughes, who turned out to be an 18-month-old infant who had passed away 20 years before. Their made-up names were derived from Alabama gravestones.
One of the numerous reasons they were moving throughout the States was because Franklin Floyd had a lengthy and extensive history of abuse and criminal behavior. He was also on the run the entire time he had been in Suzanne’s life.
His prior convictions included a 10-to-20-year term for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a four-year-old in 1962 while he was just 18 years old from a bowling alley. In 1963, he made an attempt to flee and robbed a bank while on a medical visit.
Floyd has never been found guilty of any participation in Suzanne’s death; hence the investigation into her death is technically still ongoing.
Wow, if any of you are familiar with the story of Suzanne Sevakis (a.k.a. “Sharon Marshall”) and Franklin Delano Floyd, it looks like there’s been a big new development. @UnresolvedPod did an excellent series on this case… pic.twitter.com/1XvRYNiJL9
