Westlake Girls High School is mourning its former Principal Alison Gernhoefer. The news of her death was announced by the School authority
Alison Gernhoefer was the Principal of Westlake Girls High School since 1982 until 2011. Her 30 years of service made her one of the principles who served for the longest on this post.
Authority also appreciated her service period as a principal and mentioned remarkable achievements obtained by the school under her inspiring guidelines. However, the authority did not mentioned the exact date and cause of her death. There is no information available on her funeral either.
None of the family members has made any kind of statement regarding the prominent death cause of the former Principal. Media sources are allowing distance to the family and providing them space to mourn the death of their matriarch privily.
Westlake Girls High School
Westlake Girls High School is a state girls secondary school, located to the west of Lake Pupuke in Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand.
The school was established in 1958 as a coeducational school, changing to girls only in 1962 when Westlake Boys High School opened.
The school is divided into five house groups: Akoranga (black), Hauraki (yellow), Onewa (red), Pupuke (blue) and Wairau (green).
After three decades of service, principal Alison Gernhoefer retired at the end of 2011, was succeeded by Roz Mexted. The Gernhoefer Administration building is dedicated in Gernhoefer’s honour.
