Uganda Revenue Authority has busted kasese businessman over smuggling cosmetics from DR Congo today at the boarder of Uganda and Congo.
Wilfred Mugisha a businessman operating in kasese has been arrested over smuggling cosmetics aided by a premio No UAZ 919E while leaving DR Congo with these cosmetics products.
Doris Akol the Commissioner General of Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) says that many people don’t want to pay taxes therefore they smuggle the goods in the country thus causing losses to government.
“Our enforcement activities against smuggling continue up to when act is eradicated in Uganda,” said Akol.
This has happened shortly after URA had caught another businessman smuggling fake cement and spaghetti last week.
