The government through the ministry of Energy and Mineral Development is working on a bio fuels law whose legal framework is one of the various strategies the government is going to employ in order to improve energy efficiency and environmental conservation.
The acting Assistant commissioner for electric generation, Julius Wamala says this law will allow the blending if other types of fuel with ethanol. He is optimistic that once passed by Parliament, this legal framework will go a long way in protecting the environment.
“The law is in its final stages. What bio fuel entails is that you can blend it with ethanol, this is one way of protecting our environment through maintaining energy efficiency,” says Wamala.
