116 Rwenzururu Royal Guards Released

Police  has today released 116 Rwenzururu Royal Guards who recently surrendered to the gov’t after being promised amnesty. Over 160 Rwenzururu royal guards have so far surrendered to security agencies in Kasese, three weeks after the arrest of their King Charles Wesley Mumbere. This is after government extended amnesty to the royal guards suspected to have been involved in clashes with government forces since September in Kabarole and Kasese districts that culminated into the palace attack by the army.
