The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has been conducting door to door services to the people around Uganda educating them about the benefits of paying taxes in Uganda.
URA has been educating people in many districts like Masaka, Mpigi and among others about the benefits and ways of paying taxes in Uganda.
Ian Rumanyika, the Manager Public and Corporate Affairs in URA said that some of the reasons why people need to pay taxes in Uganda is to improve on the infrastructures in the country like roads.
“Look at the Kampala – Entebbe expressway the work done and it is supported by money from the taxes you pay, Nambigirwa Bridge which is the longest in East Africa at 1.5 km.” Rumanyika said.
Rumanyika further said paying taxes help improve infrastructures like roads which help entrepreneurs to access their goods on time and this helps their work to be simplified.
