President Museveni, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF), passing out officers and men, upon completion of the Armoured Tank Company commanders and Tank crew courses respectively at Karama armoured warfare training school yesterday, Thursday 15/12/2016.
The 86 commanders from the Armoured Brigade, the Special Forces Unit and the Motorized Infantry Unit were passed after 22 weeks of training.
Officiating at the pass-out of tank company commanders at Karama Armoured Warfare Training School in Mubende District, the president urged the graduates to protect themselves from alcoholism, prostitution and avoid contracting HIV lest the training goes to waste.
During the ceremony, the president also said that the skills of tank forces will benefit other industries such as car assembly that the government wants to start and the whole of East African region will also benefit.
The president also commended the commandants of Kabamba and Karama for conserving the environment and barring people from cutting trees for charcoal.
