AN IMAGE said to be depicting Jesus Christ in the clouds has become a viral internet sensation.
Mónica Aramayo recently shared what she described as a perfectly-timed image of Jesus shining through the clouds in Argentina.
Sharing the image online, which was taken in the city of San Salvador de Jujuy, she said she wished to “bless” those who saw the image.
It went viral this week, with fervent Christians celebrating the “miracle”.
“The Lord will soon come for us all and we should be ready”
Meanwhile, Carlos Daniel Nieva said: “Thanks for the image that allows us to keep on our path and have a better hope for tomorrow.”
But a skeptical Romina Salinas wrote: “If Jesus came back, he would make us all disappear because we are worth nothing.
“I personally only see the sun coming through the clouds, but people see what they want to see.”
Eagle-eyed commentators also said they could see the figure’s robes and even the crown of thorns with which he was said to have been tortured.
Critics claimed the photo had been doctored, or was just a trick of the mind such as pareidolia.
The phenomenon is the human tendency to spot familiar images, such as human faces, in abstract patterns.
This is not the first time “Jesus” has shown up in strange places, with perhaps his most infamous appearance being in a slice of toast.
This comes after a minister said the second coming of Jesus Christ will occur in 2019.
Meanwhile, CIA files allegedly revealed who Christ really was.
Other legends state that Jesus was really Greek or that he was laid to rest in Japan.
