The Nairobi Governor, Dr. Evans Kidero visited various parts of Eastlands today . The Governor’s main agenda was to inspect and initiate some of the key projects undertaken by the county government.
The Governor urged residents of Mowlem, Njiru, Embakasi and Saika residents to register as voters. Said Governor Kidero “It’s important that everyone here takes part in the process of making a very critical decision in this country. Voting is also a democratic right every citizen aged eighteen and above.”
Dr Kidero also encouraged youths in the City to observe peace during the electioneering period from the initial stages of registeration. He said “Our youths should not be paid or incited to engage in violent acts . They should preach peace instead.”
The governor requested for speedy issuance of national identification cards . This followed similar calls from the president H.E Uhuru Kenyatta last week . “Like the president said last week , we should issue identification cards in three days to youths ,this should not only be implemented in Central or Nairobi but across the entire nation,” he said.
Dr Kidero concluded his tour by unveilling the Mowlem Health Centre. Mowlem Health Centre in Embakasi West, a project funded by Nairobi City County. The facility is now open and is offering free medical services
