Ugandans from all works of life gathered early this morning at Case Clinic to give their condolences in respect of the fallen politician, Mathias Nsubuga.

President Museveni has described Mathias Nsubuga, who died last evening, as an “open, tolerant politician who believed in dialogue”

Dep. govt spox Bantariza described the fallen politician as “respectable leader, a parent, good Christian, and a nationalistic gentleman”

Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has described the late Mathias Nsubuga as a “patriot and a man of peace”

Besigye described Mathias Nsubuga as a very friendly & fair minded person who has passed on fighting for a free & fair country and sent his heartfelt condolences. He added that “Our best promise & contribution to him can be to complete what he has died trying to achieve”.

The official Tentative Programme for the Burial of Hon. Mathias Nsubuga Birekeraawo stands as follows

1. The Body is now in the hands of Uganda Funeral Services.

2. Tuesday 10:00am Parliament: Chamber Eulogies and thereafter Nalumunye for Night Vigil.

3. Wednesday 9:00am Requiem Mass at Lubaga Cathedral and 1:00pm setting off to Lwengo, Ngereko-Manja in Kiwangala.

Thursday 10:00am Mass and Burial at 2:00pm.
