Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda has today attended the consecration of a new Bishop in Arua district.

He represented President Yoweri Museveni at the consecration and enthronement of the 7th Bishop of Madi and West Nile Diocese Rev.Can.Charles Collins Andaku.

The service was presided over by Archbishop Stanley Ntagali at Emmanuel Cathedral Mvara.

In his speech, the prime minister delivered President Yoweri Museveni’s congratulations to the new Bishop of Madi and West Nile Diocese upon his elevation to this high calling.

Bishop Collins Andaku becomes the 7th Bishop of the diocese replacing Bishop Dr Joel Obetia who has retired.

President Museveni was represented by the Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda at the consecration and enthronement at Emmanuel Cathedral Mvara, Arua presided over by Archbishop Stanely Ntagali.

“I applaud the existing partnership between the Church and the State,” said President Museveni in his speech delivered by the PM. Dr Rugunda delivered a gift of a brand new vehicle from the President to enable the new Bishop do his Pastoral work effectively.
