NORTH Korean leader Kim Jong-un’s health has been called into question as he no showed a memorial ceremony to his father which he never normally never misses.

Questions have been raised about the 33-year-old’s health over the past years, with the North Korean leader’s weight rubber banding as he lives a lavish lifestyle.

Recent pictures of Kim show he has ballooned again, and in photoshoot he appeared bathed in sweat – before taking a seat while on a day out with his wife and sister.

The North Korean leader was expected to visit the mausoleum where the embalmed body of his father Kim Jong-il lies in state.

His dad died of a heart attack aged 69 in 2011.

Kim, who has ruled North Korea since 2011, has never missed the memorial ceremony – a sacred event in his annual calendar.

But the regime have yet to confirm if Kim attended the ceremony, reigniting fears of his health.

The North Korean leader has appeared in a number of photoshoots over the past few months – accompanied by his entourage.

In a visit to a cosmetics factory, he appeared uneasy on his feet as he leaned on desks and at one point even had a folding chair brought out for him.

And then while on a trip to a shoe factory, his face looked covered in a layer of sweat before having to take a load off.

The 33-year-old is believed to suffer from a shopping list of health problems.

He has been reported to be suffering with gout, diabetes and heart disease and hypertension.

His weight is believed to be a bid to try resemble his grandfather Kim Il-sung, North Korea’s founding father.

Kim gorges himself as he lives a lifestyle of glitz and glamour compared his starving population.

He has a love of expensive cheeses, beer and fish and gets it imported specially for him and his ruling elite.

Chefs are flown in from around the world to cater from his broad and high-fat diet – including sushi and pizza chefs.

Kim disappeared for six weeks back in 2014 and North Korea even admitted he was suffering from an “uncomfortable physical condition”.

Daily Star Online previously revealed Kim has a team of doctors working around him to prolong his life.
