The prime minister of the republic of Uganda, Rt . Hon. Dr Ruhakana Rugunda says that young people are a great asset to Uganda.

Speaking this, Dr Rugunda was giving his speech during the young achievers awards launch of 2017 at Serena hotel Kampala.

The prime minister adds that through this efforts, government can easily turn the knowdge to what the world  expects them to be. “With the knowledge of the young people, Uganda shall be turned into a middle income country” adds Dr Rugunda. He ensured them that government creates a secure and enabling environment for the young people to think and innovate.

He also commended the government for the emphasis of immunization.

”massive immunization has reduced the deaths of important young people who can think and innovate.” Adds Dr Rugunda.

He also commended the introduction of mobile money in Uganda, a service that was started in Kenya for creation of jobs to Ugandan youths.

One of the former winners of the young achievers awards Humphrey Nsabimanya says that the awards laid a good foundation for him

“its true to celebrate the young peoples  responsibility in order to develop our country. With these awards, I got connections and never became the same.” Adds Humphrey.

Mr. Awel Wihanganya, the co founder of the program thinks that supporting entrepreneurship must be looked at more than entertainment

The young achievers awards since its inaugural events a prestigious  initiative  that has sought  to recognize  and celebrate  outstanding youth in the Ugandan community that have excelled in various  realms like Arts, Enterprenureship,Media and journalism, philanthropy among many more.
