The first lady of the republic of Uganda Mrs. Janet Kataha Museveni has warned the public on how teachers with double standards contributed towards their failure this year.
Speaking this, Mrs. Museveni was releasing the Uganda Certificate of Education [U.C.E] results where she warned head teachers not to allow such acts in their schools.
According to her, teachers who teach in more than one school do not teach children to learn but rather to cram what shall be written while doing the National examination board exam.
The first lady also was not happy with schools that are given laboratory equipments as well as library text book and end up only keeping the materials clean instead of being utilized by the learners.
It is on this note that she encouraged all stakeholders including political, cultural, religiousleaders as well as members of parliament to make use of this information by devising a strategy for improvement of the Ugandan sector of education.
She also announced that the official selection of senior five students shall take place on 9th to 10th of February 2017 in Lugogo at the Uganda Manufacturers Association [U.M.A] grounds.
According to UNEB. 30 districts results were withheld and among these index number
U0669 of St. Bruno Sserunkuuma s.s Mpigi recorded the highest number being 96, as U02393of Good Hope S.S Bundibugyo which had only 15 recorded the least number of results withheld.
Iganga, Mpigi a well as Wakiso recorded the highest levels of results withheld.
