Julius Hakiza, says the man only identified as Fang has been working with Sino-hydro Corporation, a Chinese firm that won the tender to construct the 600MW Karuma dam.
Emmanuel Nyalo, the Human Resource Manager for Sino-hydro Corporation says that Fang has been working as a foreman at the outfall section and the incident happened when Fang was reversing a 28 seater bus registration number UAN 859H near the construction site when he lost control ramming into the fast-running waters of the River Nile.
So far only the vehicle was retrieved from the water on Sunday evening from the depth of over 25 metres.
Fang is the third Chinese national to lose his life during the construction of the dam. At the end of August, another Chinese national committed suicide.
Also in September last year, another Chinese worker died after being attacked by a hippopotamus along the Nile.
Nyalo says there are over 1,000 Chinese and 5,000 Ugandans working on the construction site.
