Onduparaka and Bright Stars Football Clubs each earned a point in the non-scoring stalemate played at the Green Light Stadium in Arua on Tuesday evening.

In a physical game of limited scoring opportunities for the two sides, no goal dividend was witnessed by the close of business for the 90 minutes.

Goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato, facing his immediate former club was in top form with good command of the back-line as he thwarted efforts from Nelson Senkatuka and Alfred Onek.

On the other hand, Bright Stars veteran goalkeeper Hamza Muwonge, returning to the starting line up since kick off of the league also proved good authority throughout the game, taming on colour Viane Ssekajugo, Samson Ceaser Okhuti and company.

Onduparaka skipper Rashid Toha exhibited stability after recovering from an ankle injury suffered weeks ago.

There was a nasty moment in the game where Bright Stars’ left back Dan Birikwalira (on loan from Vipers) was stretchered off following a tackle from behind incident and he needed quick medication attention from medics at Arua Regional Referral Hospital after losing two teeth.

Changes

In a bid to exert pressure and earn the desired result, the two sides made respective amendments to the team in action.

Living Kabon, Gaddafi Gadinho and Remex Kasozi (formerly at Bright Stars) were introduced by the home team head coach Mwebaze for Nicholas Kagaba, Oscar Agaba and Samon Ceaser Okhuti respectively.

Fred Kajoba, at the helm of Bright Stars threw on Brian Kayanja for Alfred Onek and a forced change where the injured Birikwaliira was rushed to hospital and in came former Vipers Junior team player Methiodius Jjunju.

For a point earned, Bright Stars maintained their 6th position as Onduparaka dropped to fourth because BUL won 2-1 away to Maroons.
