New Nike Phantom Venom Boots are inspired by the Vintage Total 90’s from 2002. The legendary boots were released ahead of the 2002 FIFA World Cup.

The Air Zoom Total 90 II came out just before 2002’s quadrennial event and was worn by the likes of Francesco Totti, Luis Figo, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes and Roberto Carlos during the tournament. With its design and the aura of its wearers, the cleats became an instant classic.

A new era of footwear had ushered in and everyone lost their heads trying to get one. Many young ballers had one of these and remains a part of their growing up to this day.

And those who didn’t, regret it to this day.

Nike, who like to draw inspirations from their old designs every now and then, are doing so once again and their latest will see the classic back in action.

The American Sportswear giant are looking to turn back time by designing a new beat that is heavily inspired by the Total 90 design. The New Phantom are black and white while sharing the same pattern with the 2nd design of the iconic boot.

According to Footy Headlines, the boots will be limited edition and will be released by either spring or summer later this year. The report goes on to add that the cleats will cost a steep $250. However, football boot enthusiasts will likely have no problems coughing the cash up.
