Valerie James was the third wife of Sid James who saddly has passed away at the age of 93.
Sidney James real names Solomon Joel Cohen, was a British actor and comedian, born in South Africa, whose career encompassed radio, stage and screen, he was best known for his numerous roles in the Carry On film series.
James, although having started his career in his native country, found his greatest success in England, starting with roles in films from 1947, he was cast in numerous small and supporting roles into the 1950s. He appeared in the film The Lavender Hill Mob in 1951, starring Alec Guinness.
His popularity increased when he appeared alongside Tony Hancock in the radio and television versions of Hancock’s Half Hour, which lasted from 1954 to 1960. After that, he gained notoriety as a consistent performer in the Carry-On movies. He appeared in nineteen of the series’ films, with the leading roles in 17 of them.

As mention above, Valerie Jame was sid James third wife. James married three times. He and his first wife, Berthe Sadie Delmont, were married in 1936 and a daughter, Elizabeth, was born in 1937; they were divorced in 1940, mainly as a result of his many relationships with other women.
In 1943, he married a dancer, Meg Sergei, née Williams (1913-1977); in 1948, they had a daughter Reina; they were divorced on 17 August 1952.
Later, that year, James married Valerie Elizabeth Patsy Assan on August 21, 1952. They resided in Delaford Park, a mansion that James helped to build partially. It is located in Iver, Buckinghamshire, close enough to Pinewood Studios for him to take a break from filming there for lunch.
He had a three-year, highly publicized romance with Barbara Windsor while still married to Valerie. The 1998 stage play Cleo, Camping, Emmanuelle and Dick, and its 2000 television adaption Cor, Blimey! both dramatized the incident.

On April 26, 1976, James experienced a heart attack while performing on stage at the Sunderland Empire Theatre as part of a tour for the revival of The Mating Season. Actress Olga Lowe initially believed he was pulling a joke when he didn’t respond to her speech.
She moved toward the wings to seek assistance when he didn’t respond to her ad-libs. While the audience laughed, oblivious of what was happening, thinking the actions were part of the performance, technical manager Melvyn James (unrelated) called for the curtain to close and asked for a doctor.
He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital in an ambulance but was later declared dead. He was 62. James was cremated, and the Golders Green Crematorium is where his ashes were dispersed.

Did Sid James Have Children With Valerie James?
As already mentioned, Sid James and Valerie James had a daughter named Sue, who went on to produce television, and a son named Steve James, who was born in 1954 and became a music producer.
His dependence on gambling was so severe that he and his agent, Michael Sullivan, established a deal whereby she would not know how much money he was receiving so that money could be set aside for gaming.
James hit his girlfriend when she was pregnant and also hit his first wife while she was expecting.
