She received honors throughout her career: the Texas AP Award as a journalist, the Big Sisters Organization of the United States honor with The Woman of Achievement Award, and the Matrix Award from Women in Communications.

As a part of an interaction program with Trinity University, she attended American University for one year studying international relations.

Pemmaraju’s death was announced by Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott, who said that the Texas-raised journalist was best known for her kindness and was an incredibly talented journalist.

“We are deeply saddened by the death of Uma Pemmaraju, who was one of FOX News Channel’s founding anchors and was on the air the day we launched,” said Scott.

“Uma was an incredibly talented journalist as well as a warm and lovely person, best known for her kindness to everyone she worked with. We extend our heartfelt condolences to her entire family.”

As of Wednesday morning, the cause of her death has not been released to the public.

Pemmaraju started her carrer on a television platform in her home state of Texas. She began reporting at television station KENS in San Antonio and San Antonio Express-News. She was studying at Trinity University and handling her work as a producer and reporter.

During Pemmaraju’s college days, she served as the editor of their newspaper. Later, she moved as a news anchor and correspondent broadcasting CBS programming KTVT in Dallas. Afterward, she became part of the television station WMAR-TV in Baltimore, where she received an extensive range of awards Emmy Award.
