The Bruins selected Marchand in the third round, 71st overall, at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. On October 21, 2009, he faced the Nashville Predators in his NHL debut.
Before the Boston Bruins, Brad played for Moncton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In 2010–11, when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup for the first time since 1972, Marchand played his first complete season.
Marchand’s goal handed Canada the victory over Team Europe at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey on a global scale. Additionally, he and Canada have won gold medals at the IIHF World Junior Championship in 2007 and 2008 and the IIHF World Championship in 2016.
