American Ninja Warrior 2022 contestant Christopher Harding Jones is a 17-year-old guy from Atlanta, Georgia. He became the first competitor to beat the course in the 14th season of the television series.

Christopher, who is called Topher by his friends, represented “Living Wide” which was formed by his late father. His impressive showing in the first round of the competition has been highly praised by people around the world.

The American Ninja Warrior qualifier revealed that he was the last student to be picked for anything related to sports or PE in school. His father built him his obstacle course in the home. When he was young, his father was diagnosed with lung cancer. He confessed that his dad never smoked and said.

Topher picked up the sports when he was just a pre-teen guy. Though he was weak at first and did not think that he would be this good, his father had been the driving force for the improvement of the young boy.

Christopher’s father passed away four years after the diagnosis. His mother and some training partners, who called him tropher, cheered him on as he crossed the obstacles. His mom said,

“He is the epitome of living wide.”

He was wearing a T-shirt saying the same. After crossing the challenges, he said that his father looked over him even after his death and hugged his mother.

Christopher Harding Jones dedicated his incredible run to his late father. His mother, Sherry Jones said that the show was a game-changer for her son. She is a single mother of Christopher and his sister.

Just after pressing the buzzer indicating that he conquered the course, Topher screamed “For Father” in a tribute to his late father who passed away in December 2020.

Mr. Jones was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2015, and doctors said that he had just four months. But the old man kept on fighting and lived his life to the fullest and came up with the “Living Wide” motto in the life of Christopher and the team.

Despite Topher not being a very athletic person, it was the determination of his father and the hard work of the teenager which drove him to the grand stage of American Ninja Warrior.

Jones just finished his senior school at Pope High School just outside Atlanta, Georgia. He couldn’t play other sports due to a sensory processing disorder that affects his balance. So he started learning ninja in 2015.

The teenager was cheered by his mates from Living Wide during his run. His mother was also present to see his qualifier run. He has a long way to go in Ninja Warrior.
