According to sources, Xavier was a nice kid who stood at a height of about 4 feet tall and weighed about average for his height.

A family member has set up a GoFundMe account to assist Xavier’s parents in raising funds for the funeral. By Tuesday night, the family had already collected more than $24,000.

Amerie Jo Garza – grade student

Amerie Jo Garza, 10, is one of the 19 Robb Elementary School students killed in Uvalde on May 24, 2022.

Amerie Jo Garza, 10, was just finishing her 4th-grade year at Robb Elementary. She was identified after her father, Angel Garza, waited hours only to learn that she was among the victims.

Her father, wrote on Facebook:

“Thank you everyone for the prayers and help trying to find my baby. She’s been found. My little love is now flying high with the angels above. Please don’t take a second for granted. Hug your family. Tell them you love them. I love you Amerie jo. Watch over your baby brother for me.”

Other victims identified sofar include; 

Eva Mireles, 4th-grade teacher

Eva Mireles was one of the two adults killed, she was a fourth-grade teacher, she died upon arriving at Uvalde Memorial Hospital.

Eva Mireles will be greatly missed by her family, friends and learners. Audrey Garcia, whose daughter was a former student of Eva Mireles, said she was the best teacher her child has ever had.

Garcia’s daughter is diagnosed with Down Syndrome, and Mireles was constantly going the extra mile for her daughter and integrated her into her classroom, she said.

Uziyah Garcia

According a family member, Uziyah Garcia was 8-year-old Uziyah Garcia.

“The sweetest little boy that I’ve ever known,” Renfro said. “I’m not just saying that because he was my grandkid.”  Manny Renfro,his grandfather told the source.

Renfro said Uziyah last visited him in San Angelo during spring break.

“We started throwing the football together and I was teaching him pass patterns. Such a fast little boy and he could catch a ball so good.

There were certain plays that I would call that he would remember and he would do it exactly like we practiced.”

Other several victims continue to battle their injuries at medical facilities, and at least two blood drives have been announced for community members looking to donate.

The University Health system, based out of San Antonio, says its donor rooms have availability for the next several days. More information can be found here.

The Robb Elementary School was placed on lockdown at 11:43 a.m. in response to gunshots in the area. At 1:17 p.m., UCISD tweeted that there was an active shooter at the elementary school.

As UCISD officers exchanged fire with Salvador, US Border Patrol Tactical Unit agents arrived at the school in response to a request for assistance from authorities; they, too, exchanged fire with Salvador, with one agent suffering head injuries and Salvador reportedly died.
