Police in Northern Illinois are investigating a triple homicide after a father and his two young sons were found shot and killed inside a home.
The fatal shootings occurred in Belvidere, about 75 miles northwest of Chicago, on Sunday, Dec. 19, police said in a news briefing. It is believed to be the first triple homicide in the town, which has a population of 25,000, Belvidere Police Chief Shane Woody said.
The home’s landlord called 911 Sunday when he discovered 31-year-old Andrew Hintt and his two sons shot and killed in the home, the police chief said. The boys, whose names were not released, are 5 and 7 years old.

It’s unclear at what point the father and his sons were killed, but the police chief said they had been seen earlier in the day Sunday.
No criminal records about Hintt have been addressed by police. However, if reports are true, patch.com has noted about Hintt being a thief.
On October 9, 2017, Hint, along with an accomplice, Madeline Way, were both arrested for stealing retail goods.
They were blamed for stealing $300 worth of tools from the Menards store in the 200 block of North Bolingbrook Drive.
Likewise, the page also notes that Hintt also has a previous theft conviction from 2009 out of DeKalb County. Most are related to shoplifting.

Andrew Hintt’s Murder & Case Update
A Belvidere family is murdered, and police are searching for the person responsible.
The incident happened Sunday night at 628 Union Ave. Police said that they were called to the home around 9:45 p.m., which is when the discovery was made. Four bullet casings were found inside, and that they are now looking for the person who did it.
“We are investigating this case as a triple homicide,” said Belvidere Police Chief Shane Woody. “The landlord had received contact from the boys mother and she was requesting that the landlord go check because they were unable to make contact with Andrew or the sons.”
Police found the bodies of 31-year-old Andrew Hintt and his five and seven-year-old sons inside. All of them had been shot, according to Woody.
Authorities believe that the murder suspect stole Hintt’s silver Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk.
“The individual or individuals that committed this crime are evil,” Belvidere Mayor Clint Morris said in the news briefing, “and my heart goes out as well as the community’s goes out to the victims.”
Police continue to investigate at the home, where Woody said four 9 mm shell casings were found. A gun has not been recovered. Woody called the homicides a “senseless tragedy” and has asked anyone with information to come forward.
Police are searching for Hintt’s 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, which is silver or gray in color. “Whoever conducted this horrific act is truly evil,” Woody said.
They have not located the murder weapon, however, 9mm shell casings were found in the death spot.
However, the autopsies on the victims are also left pending. The Belvidere and Illinois police are still trying their best to catch the suspect.

According to a fundraiser on Go Fund Me, Benjamin is seven years of age, while his younger brother Sebastian is currently five.
As per the family neighbor, Joshua Woodman, they would often see the kids playing outside.
They have been described as energetic, loving, and charming kids. At present, the fundraiser has raised $15,860 so far.
The organizer of the program is Lori Hint. She has intended to raise money for the funeral arrangements for the boys.
