According to Calciomercato, Wolves have an eye on signing Lille midfielder and former Bayern Munich man, Renato Sanches.
Sanches is known in England for an ill-fated spell with Swansea City. The Portuguese star failed to make an impact in Wales, deapite arriving with a glowing reputation after a big-money move to Bayern.
Now playing in France with Lille, the report from Calciomercato claims Sanches has ‘entered the crosshairs’ of Wolves and manager Nuno Santo, who is once again looking to strengthen the ranks.
Sanches has been a regular for the Ligue 1 outfit this term after playing 33 times across all competitions last season. Still only 23, the midfielder is seemingly getting his career back on track.
And his performances look to have caught the eye of Wolves. A midfielder may be on the agenda with Ruben Neves not hitting the heights of previous seasons and Joao Moutinho being on the bench at times.
A big talent, Portuguese, the connection makes sense – TBR View
If any Premier League club is going to sign another talent from Portugal then it’s Wolves. They already have a number of fine players from the European nation and Sanches is another now on the radar.
He’s clearly a talented player, too. However, he’s just not fulfilled that potential yet. But at 23, time is firmly on his side and we all know how good a coach Nuno Santo is.
If Sanches does move to Wolves, it could well be the making of him and finally give him chance to rectify his miserable spell in Swansea.
