The Demon Soul’s remake is now available courtesy of the PlayStation 5. Most of the reviews have been extremely positive with the game dubbed an “impressive and slavish tribute“, and it’s certainly an excellent way to begin your escapade into the next-generation of Sony. While there’s plenty of harder foes awaiting to bash in your skull and tear your body limb from limb, here you’ll discover how to quickly beat Phalanx in the Demon’s Souls remake.
If you’re a newcomer to Demon’s Souls, you might want to devour some guides for best starting class and character builds. We’d recommend playing with the beginner friendly Royalty class because of magic and the ability to exploit Soul Arrow, but there are plenty of great classes available with the Knight also being a favourite thanks to its aesthetic appropriateness.
Whether you’ve chosen to be Royalty, a Knight, or any of the other available classes to choose from, below you’ll discover how to quickly beat the Phalanx boss in the remake on PS5.
How to beat Phalanx in the Demon’s Souls remake
The easiest and quickest way to beat Phalanx in the Demon’s Souls remake is by using fire.
By using firebombs, you will be able to beat Phalanx in the Demon’s Souls remake fairly comfortably so long as you don’t waste your time with all of its minions.
The boss is a mighty glob of parasites and shields, and some of its defence mechanisms will detach themselves and follow you around the area.
Ignore these as best as possible, and simply focus on eliminating the enemies attached to the main boss so you can create a gateway to the shining blue light concealed within.
While you will need to eliminate some of the Hoplites chasing you and attached to Phalanx, you will want to primarily throw your firebombs at the shining turquoise light.
What we’d recommend is throwing two firebombs after walking through the grey gate of smoke for the very first time, and then simply attack Phalanx through the break in defence you’ve created.
It’s recommended that you have plenty of firebombs at your disposal, but pine resin will also work as it’ll allow you to set your weapon ablaze.
You can also use Soul Arrow on the Hoplites if you’re the Royalty class, but firebombs and pine resin is a must regardless of what class your person is.
