Kalvin Phillips has reportedly emerged as a target for both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur next summer with the holding midfielder touted at a whopping £50million – and Leeds fans have reacted on Twitter to the Spurs and Liverpool interest.
Phillips, 24, clocked up his 186th appearance for Leeds on Monday night as the Whites suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers. While Leeds are expected to be safe from relegation this season, they are hardly going to reach the top six.
While Phillips is in the top tier of English football with his boyhood club, he may have to wait a long time if he is to ever play in the Champions League – or for a club in the top six. The Mirror claim Liverpool and Spurs want him next summer.
Liverpool boast options at the base of their midfield, but have brought in Thiago from Bayern Munich – despite already possessing Fabinho. Jordan Henderson can do a job in that role, as can English veteran James Milner.
Tottenham also strengthened their options at the base of their midfield earlier this summer, luring Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to north London from Southampton. But Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele are also options.
Leeds supporters have reacted on Twitter to the reported news that Spurs and Liverpool could look to complete a transfer for Phillips ahead if next summer’s window. Many believe Phillips will stay at Leeds.
I’m also interested in a @Lamborghini, I think I’ve got about the same chance as KP leaving us.

There’s me thinking a big club would come in for him…oh, he’s already with one. Salah dependant Liverpool will end up a mess – Spurs, perennial losers. https://t.co/aA2ewzCvNs
