Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in talks to sign Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale but some outlets have claimed that Dele Alli could be included in a deal to bring Bale back to Spurs – and Paul Robinson believes such a deal would make sense.
Bale, 31, has developed the reputation of an outcast at Real Madrid as he remains on the sidelines. The 83-time Wales international is in a tricky position where Real want him gone, but his enormous wages means clubs struggle to afford him.
But that could all be about to change. Bale is being strongly linked with a return to Spurs, with Real ready to subsidise his wages – though a loan or a permanent deal is unlikely. The Telegraph, though, claims a swap could be on the cards.
Indeed, it states that Alli could move to Zinedine Zidane’s side in a swap deal for Bale – despite Alli’s poor form of late in a Spurs shirt. Ex-Tottenham goalkeeper Robinson believes such a swap deal would make sense.
