Hyper Scape has finally launched on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Uplay, and people are understandably asking if it’s crossplay and supports cross platform multiplayer.
There is cross platform transfer progression in Hyper Scape as acknowledged by the game’s official Twitter account, but there is no crossplay multiplayer at this moment of time.
While there is cross transfer progression, Ubisoft have made it clear that Bitcrowns do not apply.
This means that they will stay on the PS4, Xbox One, or PC system you acquired them on with no avenue to move them.
After numerous leaks about Ubisoft’s first foray into the Battle Royale video game genre, Hyper Scape has been announced with a closed beta for PC players in certain regions. With crossplay being a key component for most modern multiplayer titles, lots of interested gamers have been asking whether Hyper Scape is cross platform between PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
At its core, Hyper Scape is a Battle Royale video game that will allow 100 players to duke it out to the death in either solo or squad modes. However, to stand apart from the likes of Fortnite and Apex Legends, there are said to be many fresh and original ideas that will make it wholly unique when compared to everything else in the overstuffed genre.
While it remains to be seen just how unique the game will actually be when it fully launches, Ubisoft have reportedly commented on the inclusion of cross platform multiplayer between PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
What is the release date for Hyper Scape?
The release window for Hyper Scape is summer 2020.
This means that the release date for Hyper Scape should come before the end of August.
It’s always possible that the game could be delayed but – as of this moment – a launch before September is Ubisoft’s plan.
Is Hyper Scape crossplay between PS4 and Xbox One?
Crossplay between PS4, Xbox One, and PC is not officially confirmed for Hyper Scape.
However, while cross platform multiplayer isn’t confirmed for Hyper Scape, Creative Director Jean-Cristophe Guyot has reportedly discussed the eventual inclusion of crossplay.
Windows Central reports that Guyot has confirmed that cross platform multiplayer is “definitely in the pipeline,” but that it will be added to the game once a solid backbone is established.
It’s not mentioned whether crossplay will be available at launch or how long after, but there are probably other complicated matters such as cross platform between PS5 and Xbox Series X.
And, in regard to Ubisoft’s Battle Royale arriving on next-gen consoles, Senior Producer Graeme Jennings has reportedly said that it’s a conversation amongst the development team without any solidified plans.
