According to Marca, Arsenal target Thomas Partey will make a decision on his future this month with Atletico Madrid’s new contract offer still on the table.
The Ghana international midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit.
Partey’s current release clause at Atleti is around the £45 million mark, prompting strong interest from Arsenal and Serie A champions Juventus.
A previous report from Football Ghana claimed Partey wants to join Arsenal.
The latest news from Marca, however, says the midfielder is still undecided but will make a decision this month after the Champions League campaign comes to a close.
Atleti have reached the quarter-finals after knocking out holders Liverpool in the last round. They will face Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in the last eight.
It seems the Spanish club’s best hope of retaining Partey is to win the Champions League.
The midfielder isn’t one of the best paid players at the club. Moreover, the gap between Diego Simeone’s side and Spain’s top two appears to be at its largest for years.
Partey, 27, may feel the time is right to move on and he will know that Juventus can offer regular titles while Arsenal have wealthy Premier League finances.
The Gunners, meanwhile, will be looking to bolster their midfield regardless.
Mikel Arteta’s side will see Dani Ceballos return to Real Madrid following his loan spell. Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira, on the other hand, appear out of favour.
