After replacing the chief executive officer of Vodafone Uganda Mr Allan Richardson, the new CEO John Ndego has revealed that his first target will be the youths.

Ndego says that  there is too much potential in the market of Uganda in spite of the fact that we are still in analogue stages when it comes to consumption of data.

He continues to say that the African  sub Saharan youths are the strength of today’s Africa. He adds that since the future is “a data led future”, Vodafone Uganda has a digital mindset

Vodafone  launched its partnership with Kampala International University ( KIU)  where  lots of fun, Free 4G WiFi, gifts, internship placements for KIU students among  many more were given out.

The ceremony was held at at KIU main campus in Kansanga.

Vodafone is the world’s second largest telecom with 434 million subscribers, capital worth £89.1b (about sh382trillion) and revenues of £38.34b (about sh164 trillion) according to financials released in March this year.

Analysts predict that the entry of Vodafone Uganda will lead to a spike in competition with existing telecoms MTN, Airtel, Smart, Smile and Africell resulting in price reductions.
