Thierry Henry has labelled Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino as the most complete striker in the Premier League.
The former Arsenal forward was full of praise for the Brazilian who he believes is the full package up front.
‘His movement, his work-rate, the way he makes the two central defenders move to allow Mo Salah to make those runs,’ Henry told Sky Sports.
Roberto Firmino is the most complete striker in the Premier League, says Thierry Henry
The former Arsenal forward noted that Firmino’s movement and work rate are exceptional
‘Firmino is the most complete striker in the league.
‘I’m not talking about the best finisher or the best work-rate, I’m talking about all round. The most complete in the league.’
Despite the ruthless attacking edge of Mo Salah and prolific record of Harry Kane, it’s Firmino who ticks all the boxes for Henry.
The Brazil international has been a key player for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season
The former Hoffenheim man is an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s philosophy and has been directly involved in 41 goals for the Reds this campaign, either scoring or providing an assist.
With Salah and Mane causing havoc down both flanks, the wide men are beneficiaries of Firmino’s intelligent movement and ability to create space.
No doubt Real Madrid will look to stifle the 26-year-old who’s fortunes on May 26 will go a long way to determining the Champions League final.
Fimino’s intelligent play affords space to those around him such as Mo Salah
