Swansea City are set to complete their first signing of a new era with a deal for Liverpool’s talented young midfielder Yan Dhanda.
The 19-year-old was the first player of Indian heritage to join Liverpool on professional terms, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal in December 2015.
Liverpool signed Dhanda from West Bromwich Albion‘s academy for around £500,000 in 2013 amid competition from Chelsea and much was expected of the former England U17 international.
Swansea are expected to sign Liverpool’s talented young midfielder Yan Dhanda on Friday
He won the up and coming player at the 2013 Asian awards and has continued to impress at U23 level scoring a last minute winner against Manchester City and grabbing two goals in the 5-1 thrashing of Chelsea which secured second place in Premier Two.
Liverpool had offered him new terms but the fierce competition in his attacking midfield position prompted Dhanda to weigh up offers from elsewhere.
Leeds United and Bristol City both expressed interest but Swansea wanted him to be part of their first team squad for next season.

The newly-relegated side want to go back to their ‘total football’ style in the Championship and bring in more young, talented players who can grow as the team progresses.
Dhanda, who has excellent technique and is composed on the ball, is seen as a key addition and is expected to sign on Friday.
Swansea are expected to pay around £100,000 for the Birmingham-born teenager and Liverpool have asked for a 20percent sell-on clause to be inserted.
Liverpool U23s midfielder Jordan Williams, 22, is also expected to leave the club this summer.
