Addressing the media this morning today Kasingye said that he is receiving threatening calls and text messages from a man he has identified as a one John Kagimu.

Mr Kasingye said that a one John Kagimu has been sending him messages threatening his life over a story and pictures in the Bukedde newspaper revealing motorcycles allegedly used in the murder of AIGP Kaweesi.

“I have received threats from telephone number 0782 744915. When I checked it out, it’s registered in Kagimu John’s name. I tried to call back and he refused to pick up,” Mr Kasingye said.

He added that the sender of the messages warned him against parading the motorcycles.

“Why do you put those motorcycles in Bukedde as if they’re the ones that killed omugenzi. Now that they are with the Police, I hope they will not say the same thing about you,” the message reads.

The revelation comes barely a month after former police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi was gunned down by unknown assailants after receiving similar threats.

He says the police have embarked on a vigorous search for this suspected criminal whose motive is still unclear.
