Manchester City have announced the appointment of Paul Harsley as the new coach of their elite development squad.
The 40-year-old – who represented clubs including Port Vale, Macclesfield and Scunthorpe during his playing career.
Harsley held a similar role at Barnsley, where he was also briefly caretaker manager in February.

Harsley succeeds Simon Davies, who has now moved to the position of head of coaching under-13s to under-23s at the club.
Academy director Jason Wilcox told the Manchester Evening News: ‘We are delighted to welcome Paul to the role of EDS manager.
‘He is a forward-thinking coach who has had an extensive playing career and comes to us with an excellent reputation of working with young players.
‘He is a great addition to our coaching staff and he is inheriting a talented group of players.’
