Luciano Spalletti has claimed that Ivan Perisic has told him that he wants to stay at Inter Milan beyond the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old winger has been relentlessly linked with a move to Manchester United throughout the summer transfer window as Jose Mourinho looks to add some more firepower to his squad.
Manchester United have already signed Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof and Nemanja Matic so far this summer, but the Red Devils are thought to be on the lookout for one more player in the transfer window.
Perisic is one player who has been relentlessly linked with Manchester united throughout the summer, although it remains to be seen whether a deal can be done at this late stage.
Now, Inter Milan boss Spalletti has suggested that Perisic’s future lies at the San Siro beyond the summer.
Spalletti was quoted as saying over the weekend by Metro: “Perisic is determined to remain.
“He spoke like a player who wants to do well and be professional.”
Manchester United will be looking to improve their Premier League form this season after they ended up in sixth place in the table last term.
However, they still secured their place in this season’s Champions League after Mourinho led the Red Devils to Europa League glory in his first season at the club.
