A Makerere University student, whose picture went viral on internet after it appeared to reveal private parts of her body, is to face disciplinary action.
The picture in question appears to show a brown woman presumably of a one Rebbeca Nadumba wearing a threaded dress that reveals her lower body. The hot-pink skirt matches her equally scanty top.
This has angered the university administration which yesterday summoned the Bachelor of Education III evening student to face disciplinary action.
In a letter dated Tuesday May 30, 2017, the university accused the students of misconduct which they say the students exuded at the Finalist Education Dinner, which was a University function.
If it is true that that person was you, your action, as a student of this University, would have contravened University Regulation 8 (2)(a)which states that ‘every student shall respect him/herself and behave in a manner that will not bring his/her name and that of the University into disrepute’ and Regulation 8 (2) (d) which states that ‘every student shall dress in a neat and decent manner,” reads a letter addressed to Ms Rebecca Naddamba, one of the studen
“It is alleged that the picture last Friday (May 27) in the social media in red and red robe-like skirt, but cut into many strips that exposed part of nakedness, was your picture…. The purpose of this letter is therefore to request you to show cause why you should not be presented to the University Student Union disciplinary committee for breach of regulation,” the letter addressed to Naddamba read.
The university said that Naddamba contravened the University regulations. “University regulation 8 (a) states that every student shall respect him/herself and behave in a manner that will not bring his/her name and that of the university into disrepute,” the notice read.
