Kylian Mbappe has been used to taking the plaudits over the last couple of season following the teenager’s rapid rise to the top of European football.

But his latest honour is a little different to the Young Player of the Year awards and Ligue 1 titles he has picked up with Monaco and now Paris Saint-Germain.

On Friday morning Mbappe saw a waxwork of himself inside the Musee Grevin in Paris, France‘s very own Madame Tussauds.

Complete with his signature folded arms celebration, the 19-year-old posed with his double for the cameras at the unveiling, where he became the youngest inductee in the museum’s history.

He took to Twitter after the ceremony to say a few words. ‘An honor to be the youngest celebrity to get into @Grevin_Paris,’ he posted, alongside a picture with himself and the dummy.

There would likely have been palpable relief around the reveal of the waxwork, with real-life Mbappe at least bearing some resemblance to his wax self.

The same cold not be said for the waxwork of French President  Emmanuel Macron, which faces being melted down, such is its poor likeness to the politician.

Mbappe now turns his attention to the World Cup after being named in Didier Deschamps 23-man squad for Russia.

There may be more effigies to come he plays a starring role in winning his country their second ever world title.
