KCCA has been Summoned by High Court to defend itself on allegations it negligently failed to cover manholes in the city which has led to injuries to pedestrians.

In a lawsuit filed against KCCA, a one Lubegs claims that he was injured when he fell into an uncovered manhole along Namirembe road in the middle of a grassy, poorly lit area at about 4:30 p.m. on August, 26, 2014.

He claims that the hole which he fell in was about 8-9 feet and became unconscious, only to be rescued by good Samaritans.

As a result, he suffered injuries, his body was bruised and his right leg was operated.

According to the summons signed by Deputy Registrar Alex Ajiji, KCCA has been given only 15 days within which to defend them-selves, before court fixes a case for hearing.

This after a citizen, Lubega Silver filed a case against KCCA seeking of over 15million shillings as damages when he fell in KCCA man manhole and broke one of his leg.

As a result, he suffered injuries, his body was bruised and his right leg was operated.
