SHOCK: Some fans claim Michael Jackson was murdered by the Illuminati
Tributes poured in from fans around the world today on the eighth anniversary of the Thriller star’s death.
Heartfelt messages were posted on social media while others are set to attend vigils to remember the Billie Jean icon.
The world was shocked when Jacko died at the age of 50 following a cardiac arrest.
It was later determined he’d died after a drug overdose, which included propofol.
His personal doctor Conrad Murray was given four years in jail after he was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
But a different theory has emerged after the singer’s daughter, Paris Jackson, claimed her dad was murdered.
Conspiracy theorists believe the 19-year-old is pointing the finger at the Illuminati, a mythical secret society.
The bombshell theory suggests the artist was once part of the group – reflected by his “unusual” album colours – before relations soured.
The chilling claims were reported by conspiracy cult site Disclose.tv, but various other sites and video-makers on YouTube have explored the theory.
One video titled “Why the Illuminati killed Michael Jackson” has racked up a staggering 8,886,262 views at the time of publication.
Underneath the video, its most-liked comment reads: “The Illuminati is 100% real. Make no mistake about it.
“The only people who do not believe in the existence of the Illuminati are the people haven’t done any research.
“The evidence is all around us. It’s time to wake up! It’s time for change!”
Other videos on YouTube making the same claims have also been viewed millions of times, with impassioned comments underneath.
Rogue truth-seekers continue to share the explosive claims on social media after Paris’s astonishing interview with Rolling Stone magazine.
“All real fans and everybody in the family knows it. It was a setup.”
Paris told the magazine: “He would drop hints about people being out to get him.
“And at some point he was like, ‘they’re going to kill me one day’.”
Commenting on her suggestion of foul-play, she added: “Absolutely. Because it’s obvious. All arrows point to that.
“It sounds like a total conspiracy theory and it sounds like b*******, but all real fans and everybody in the family knows it. It was a setup. It was b*******.”
When asked who may have wanted her dad dead, she responded: “A lot of people. Of course (I want revenge or justice). I definitely do, but it’s a chess game.
“And I am trying to play the chess game the right way. And that’s all I can say about that right now.”
Paris recently got a new tattoo – inked on her foot as “Apple Head” – in memory of her dad.
“Apple Head” was said to have been a pet name she had for the Dirty Diana star.
MJ’s sister, LaToya Jackson, told Piers Morgan on CNN in 2011 she also believed her brother had been murdered.
She said: “I would never, ever think differently. Michael told me that they were going to murder him. He was afraid. He was afraid for his life.”
Last month an extraordinary image appeared to suggest the record-breaking Billie Jean singer had travelled through time.
MJ burst onto the scene as a boy with Jackson 5, before he embarked on a record-breaking career which saw him dubbed the King of Pop.
Before his death the Beat It star was to perform a 50-date This Is It tour at London’s O2 arena.
An astonishing one million tickets sold out within hours and a film detailing his preparation for the tour was released after he died.
Paris Jackson’s representatives said they did not wish to comment.
