Despite always going into tournaments as one of the strongest sides, France have only won the World Cup once in their history, with that success coming 20 years ago.
Les Bleus will be determined to go one better at this tournament than they did at Euro 2016, when they were beaten in the final by Portugal.
Deschamps has a very exciting squad at his disposal containing a mix of experienced stars and talented youngsters.
In addition to Australia, France will face Peru and Denmark in their other two group games.
