Opposition Forum for Democratic Change has dismissed media reports that Dr Kiiza Besigye and President Yoweri Museveni are set for dialogue and that the duo have  agreed on the terms the meeting.

FDC deputy SG, Kaija, says there is no scheduled dialogue between Besigye & Museveni as earlier reported by some media houses

Earlier on several Media reports had suggested that Dr Besigye and Mr Museveni had agreed on the agenda for the dialogue, a neutral venue and a foreign mediator.

It was also said that the two had also agreed on a legal framework and both individuals attending in person plus full participation.

President Museveni has for long invited his political competitors for talks since the election in 2006, however Dr Besigye has never honored the president’s invite insisting on clearly structured terms.

Addressing the media this morning, the party Deputy Secretary General, Harold Kaija said these reports are mere political propaganda by FDC masqueraders who perhaps want to meet the president for their personal reasons.

Kaija says as a party, a dialogue can only take place if there is a neutral facilitator and ground, an acceptable agenda and a guarantor that what is discussed will be implemented and it must be open to the media.
