Kampala High Court Judge Margret Oguli Oumo has today thrown out the case that Makerere University should be made a party in a case filed by a Rubaga South voter Habib Buwembo against his area MP Paul Kato Lubwama.

The ruling by justice Margaret Oumo Oguli was based on a request by a legal team led by Isaac Semakadde asking court to compel Makerere University to join the suit joined as a third respondent with Kato Lubwama and the Electoral Commission to enable the institution clarify on issues pertaining to Lubwamas academic papers.

Buwembo wants Makerere University to avail him with policies regarding its mature age entry examinations so as to establish whether Lubwama sat and passed these exams before being admitted for a Diploma in Music Dance and Drama in 1992.

The voter also accuses the University for failing to produce the Diploma Certificate it awarded to Kato Lubwama.

According to Buwembo’s lawyer Isaac Ssemakadde, these documents cannot be accessed anywhere since even on nomination day, Lubwama presented to the District returning officer a letter titled “To Whom it May Concern ” written by the University’s academic registrar on 15th/October 2015.
