Arsenal are set to speak to Thierry Henry about their vacant managerial position before confirming the successor to Arsene Wenger.

Mikel Arteta remains the preferred candidate of chief executive Ivan Gazidis and director Josh Kroenke, son of owner Stan, and it is likely that the Spaniard will be installed as the new boss.

However, Sportsmail understands there are also plans to talk to Henry early next week as the club complete what has been a thorough recruitment process.
